What is Emotional Intelligence

Emotional intelligence (EI) is the ability to identify, assess, and control the emotions of oneself, of others, and of groups.

According to Reuven Bar-On, “Emotional intelligence is an array of non-cognitive capabilities, competencies, and skills that influence one’s ability to succeed in coping with environmental demands and pressures.”

The Emotional Quotient Inventory (EQi®) is the first scientifically validated and most widely used Emotional Intelligence assessment in the world. Based on more than 25 years of research worldwide, the EQ i® has been proven to be a clear predictor of one’s success in both professional and personal pursuits.

EQ principles provide a new way to understand and assess people’s behaviors, management styles, attitudes, interpersonal skills, and potential and the EQi.20 is a powerful tool used by world class companies to identify and develop star performers. It is used during the selection process, as well as being the core instrument for developing high performance teams, groups, and leaders at all levels. The EQ-i2.0 self-report is the premier, scientific measure of self-reported social emotional intelligence.
